"Helping Hand" 2006

I did this picture for my great friend Curt who helped me find work in Charleston and basically supported me till I got on my feet here. I was experimenting with ink wash and the old Windsor Sable Series 7 Brush (The best for inking!) Later I did a female hand reaching up in the same style for his wife who is also a great friend of mine. The spirals have become a recurring thing in my work, it's probably the Tim Burton Influence. I'm crazy about everything he's ever done.
